George Falconer and Janet Redpath were married in Berwickshire, Scotland and it was there they started their family. Several subsequent children were found christened at Bellsquarry, Mid-lothian, Scotland. They brought their young family to Canada circa 1833 and landed at Hamilton, Wentworth County (then the Gore District) in Ontario.

By the 1840`s the Falconer children, all now young men and women, started the trek up the Huron Tract and settled in Stanley Township, Huron County near the small fishing village of Bayfield on Lake Huron. The oldest son Alexander stayed in this community for his entire life. The rest of the family moved north into Kinloss Township, Bruce County as it opened for settlement in the mid 1850`s. Ellen, John, William, George and Redpath remained in this area and raised their families here. Thomas, James R. and David took their families and migrated west to North Dakota as land opened up. After the death of his first wife, James returned to Kinloss Township, remarried and remained in Bruce County. The descendants of Thomas and David are found from North Dakota west to Oregon, Washington, California and northward into British Columbia and Alberta.
